CARVE OUT SPACE
Making a coal-burned container takes time.
You don’t just hollow it out. You slowly burn the center with coals, then scrape it, then burn it again. This process repeats until a usable space is formed.
It’s not quick or easy and it definitely doesn’t happen by accident.
But in the end, you’ve created something very valuable in a survival situation. A simple container is a modern luxury that we take for granted.
I’ve thought about that process a lot because creating space in our lives for God looks a lot like that.
It takes intention, time, and a lot of discipline.
Even Jesus did this.
“So He Himself often withdrew into the wilderness and prayed.” — Luke 5:16
If He needed to carve out that space in His busy life, how much more do we?
“Be still, and know that I am God…” — Psalm 46:10
Stillness doesn’t just happen, it’s something we carve out.
And when we do, we create a place in our lives that God can fill, shape, and use.
Makes you wonder, what are you making room for?
